SUMMARY
* Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of Head Start Performance Standards and applicable regulations and standards.  
* Responsible for management and implementation of agency goals, policies and procedures in the assigned site locations. 
* Responsible for curriculum implementation (Center Base- Creative Curriculum; Home Base- Partners for a Healthy Baby (prenatal-3 yr old) & Growing Great Kids (3-5 yr old) in assigned programs and site locations. 

* Responsible for the supervision of employees and ensuring quality services are provided to children and families served by our agency.

POSITION COMPENSATION/BENEFITS

  • Salaried position; minimum 40 hour work week

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 

Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited four year college or university)

Hired after November 7, 2016:  Baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education or a baccalaureate or advanced degree and equivalent coursework in early childhood education with early education teaching experience.

Experience: Management skills/supervision experience preferred; Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred. 

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Database entry skills -, preferred 

Other Requirements: 

Must be cleared and allowed to work in a child care setting by the Iowa Department of Human Services, by completing a State of Iowa Criminal History Record Check and FBI National Fingerprint Record Check.

  • An AAS-Child Development/Early Childhood Education, BA Early Childhood Education, a BA or advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education.

Compensation:

  • Hourly position: $14.90-$21.92
  • 40 hours/wk; 5 days/wk; 12 month position

Early Head Start Teacher- Full Year (12 month)

Key Areas:

  • Responsible for safe, nurturing, and inviting environment for children and families
  • Deliver services outlined in Head Start Performance Standards and other applicable regulations and standards
  • Provide instruction to birth to three-year old children in activities designed to promote, social, physical and intellectual growth
  • Meet agency determined goals through the implementation of established curriculum and developmentally appropriate activities

Qualifications:

  • A CDA-Infant/Toddler, AAS-Child Development/Early Childhood Education, BA Early Childhood Education, a BA or advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education.

Compensation:

  • Hourly position: $12.79-$21.92
  • 40 hours/wk; 5 days/wk; 12 month position
  • Waterloo Area

SUMMARY

  • Partner with the family, including establishing a caring professional relationship & a climate of mutual trust & respect for the parents.
  • Work with parents to strengthen the family's knowledge of child development, health, nutrition, community resources & support parents in problem solving.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 

Education: Minimum of a BA or higher in Family Services, Social Work, Human Services or Humans Services related field.

Experience: none required; social work experience preferred. 

Computer Skills: Effectively utilize agency technology to accomplish tasks (Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite applications such as Excel/Sheets, Word/Docs and Gmail; program specific software; printers/scanners/fax/phone).

Other Requirements:  Must be cleared and allowed to work in a child care setting by the Iowa Department of Human Services, by completing a State of Iowa Criminal History Record Check and FBI National Fingerprint Record Check.

Must obtain a chauffeur license and maintain it throughout the duration of employment as a requirement of their position. If the employee does not have a valid chauffeur license they must obtain one within 30 days. Must be insurable for auto liability coverage at regular risk rates through the employer’s insurance carrier, whether the required driving is their personal vehicle or an agency vehicle.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk and hear. As position requires off-site work at Head Start and other child care facilities, individual must have access to transportation, valid driver's license and adequate personal liability insurance coverage. Travel throughout Black Hawk, Grundy, and Buchanan Counties within the service delivery area is required. 

As an employee working with child care providers, must be free from tuberculosis.

Early Head Start Home Visitor-12 month

Summary  

  • · 40 hrs/wk; Full Year (12 months); Monday-Friday; evening hours are required

  • Minimum of BA in Social Work, Family/Human Services and Early Childhood Education
  • Must be cleared & allowed to work in a child care setting by the Iowa Department of Human Services
  • Must be able to obtain a valid Iowa Driver's license (obtain a Chauffeur license upon hire) & be insured under the agency's regular rates.
